Not far from Abingdon is Oxford, famed for its University and city centre attractions. Nearby towns of interest also include Didcot and Faringdon. River cruises run throughout the summer months from Abingdon to Oxford, Wallingford and the Thames downstream. Rowing boats and canoes are also available to hire. Cycling is a popular and accessible means of transport, with many local cycle routes to explore. There are also a number of well-established walking routes in the area.
There are good transport links to London and the south east of England, with regular coaches and trains from nearby Oxford and Didcot. London Paddington station is 45 minutes from Didcot Parkway, via the Great Western Line. Just 50 miles away is London Heathrow airport, the busiest airport in the UK, with fantastic links to all UK, European and global destinations.
Abingdon also has good road and rail access to the south west of England and Wales.
